The Syro-Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM) is a dynamic and vibrant organization that empowers young people to live their faith with passion and purpose. At St. Mother Teresa Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Ottawa, our SMYM unit connects with both the national and international SMYM network, offering a platform for young people to deepen their faith, develop their leadership skills, and engage in meaningful service.

Our Vision:

• – Rooted in Faith: We strive to create a space where young people can deepen their relationship with God and the Syro-Malabar Catholic tradition.
• – Empowered for Leadership: We provide opportunities for young people to develop their leadership skills and become active participants in the life of the Church and society.
• – Committed to Service: We encourage young people to put their faith into action through service to others, both within the parish and the wider community.
• – Connected to the Global Community: We foster connections with SMYM units across Canada and around the world, building a strong network of young people united in faith and service.

Our Activities:

• – Spiritual Gatherings: We organize retreats, prayer meetings, and faith-sharing sessions to nurture the spiritual growth of our members.
• – Leadership Training: We provide workshops and training programs to equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to become effective leaders.
• – Social Events: We host social gatherings and outings to foster friendship and build community among our members.
• – Service Projects: We participate in various service projects, addressing social needs and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
• – National and International Conferences: We encourage our members to participate in SMYM conferences and events at the national and international levels, broadening their horizons and connecting with young people from diverse backgrounds.
