The Nurses Ministry at St. Mother Teresa Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Ottawa embodies the compassionate spirit of our faith and the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Composed of dedicated healthcare professionals from our parish, we strive to provide holistic care – physical, emotional, and spiritual – to those in need within our community.

Our Mission:

  • – Compassionate Care: We offer support and comfort to those who are sick, elderly, or homebound, visiting them, offering companionship, and assisting with their needs.
  • – Health Education: We provide resources and information on health and wellness topics, empowering individuals and families to make informed decisions about their health.
  • – Spiritual Support: We offer prayers and spiritual guidance, reminding those who are suffering of God’s presence and love.
  • – Advocacy and Support: We connect individuals and families with resources and services within the parish and the wider community, advocating for their needs and ensuring they receive the care they deserve.

  • – Parish Visits: We visit parishioners who are hospitalized, homebound, or in need of assistance, offering companionship, prayer, and practical support.
  • – Blood Pressure Clinics: We organize regular blood pressure clinics after Holy Qurbana to promote preventative health measures.
  • – Health Awareness Programs: We conduct workshops and seminars on various health topics, educating parishioners about healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
  • – Support for Caregivers: We offer support and resources to caregivers, recognizing the challenges they face and providing them with the tools they need to care for their loved ones.
